Joseph Turner

 Joseph Mallord Turner is perhaps the best-loved English Romantic artist. Although renowned for his oil paintings, Joseph Mallord Turner is also one of the greatest masters of British watercolour landscape painting. Long before Thomas Kinkade, Turner has long been known as "the painter of light" because of his increasing interest in briliant colours as the main constituent in his land - and seascapes. He was a major inspiration for not only Kinkade, but for Monet and and all of Impressionism. Instead of merely recording factually what he saw, Turner translated scenes into a light-filled expression of his own romantic feelings.
